Webinar ‘ReThinking NewSpace’
Connecting up- to downstream with EO innovation
March 2022
Earth observation is clearly becoming an appealing tool to get high-quality data and information for services on Earth. How can we solve current challenges in micro- and nanosatellite optical system development? And how can AI automated data processing and cost-efficient solutions?
Together with Verhaert, VITO and Aerospacelab, Lambda-X is ReThinking NewSpace during this webinar on EO application challenges.
EO for reliable, detailed and up-to-date information
Commercializing satellite functionalities has added a whole new dimension to application opportunities of NewSpace. Particularly earth observation proves to be a versatile tool for reliable, detailed and up-to-date information on services on Earth.
Using satellite data allows you to see the bigger picture, see clear connected patterns and supplement local infrastructure for prediction models. Earth observation opens the doors for future business application in several fields, from agriculture and marine, to urban planning and material management.
4 sessions, 4 EO challenges
Although earth observation systems have improved tremendously over the years, the challenges in providing cost-effective data, making micro- and nanosatellite optical systems more effective and integrating AI, are still to be solved. During this webinar we’ll tackle 4 recurring challenges in 4 sessions.
Discover new insights on sustaining successful EO-based products and services in this era of big data and IoT during the ReThinking NewSpace webinar. For more information about the sessions, please visit the event page.

Lambda-X signs a contract with SpaceAble to enhance the sustainability of Low Earth Orbit
December 2021
Lambda-X enters into an agreement with SpaceAble in order to provide the relevant optical technology which is mandatory for the needs of Space Situational Awareness (SSA), allowing the identification of human and natural threats in orbit.
Over the next 5 to 10 years, the number of low Earth orbit satellites will multiply massively. New constellations will have to safely coexist with large amounts of orbital debris which might increase risks of collisions. Through observing and identifying threats, SpaceAble contributes to preventing risks and maintaining a more sustainable space environment by visual inspection of satellites.
“We are proud to share with SpaceAble our background and available optical technology bricks in order to help the development of sustainable and efficient space environment for the future.” – says Olivier Dupont, CEO of Lambda-X.
The project has already started with expected delivery of the optical payload before end of 2023.
