Business Developer – Space
Your challenges
- Under the supervision of the Space Business line manager and the business development manager, in close collaboration with the engineering and production teams, you will be responsible to grow the portfolio of high-tech B2B customers and associated sales, worldwide.
- Your main focus will be the space applications of Infra-red cameras.
- You will learn a unique method of selling services and you will help to spread this method to your colleagues.
- Understanding and promoting Lambda-X services through networking, prospection missions, participation in international trade fairs and shows, setting-up and exploiting digital marketing techniques, leveraging the existing tools of the Verhaert group.
- Responding to inquiries and quotation requests, looking for new opportunities with existing clients, identifying new business opportunities by analyzing the market trends and competition.
- Managing key-accounts and customer satisfaction through adequate communication and meeting management.
- Managing sales process internally in good coherence with the company’s EN9100 quality system to ensure that customers’ requirements as well as commercial objectives (quality, delivery times, deliverables…) are well fulfilled.
Your profile
- You are a master in commercial engineering, economics or product development.
- You have prior experience in innovation and development and/or in business development.
- You are a commercial talented person and you are able to build new relationships with directors and C-level executives.
- Fluency in English and French is an absolute must. Dutch and German are a big plus.
- You are eager to learn about optical business and new product development.
- You have superb interpersonal skills, including the ability to quickly build trust with both customers and suppliers.
- An existing network is an additional advantage.

Mechanical R&D Engineer – optical instrumentation
Your challenges
- Under the supervision of experienced Project Managers, you work as a team member and contribute to the design and development of multiple projects.
- You are in charge of designing complex mechanical systems incorporating tight tolerances for optical equipment’s.
- You naturally integrate electrical, structural, and thermal aspects into the designs.
- You have practical experience with manufacturing techniques and you incorporate the related constraints in the designs.
- You take economic aspects into account while developing industrial solutions, being therefore in relation with suppliers for technical specifications and requests for quotations.
- You prepare the mechanical drawings and related documentation for the procurements.
Your profile
- You hold a master’s degree in mechanics or electromechanical.
- You have a very good command of English and you ideally know the fundamentals of optics.
- A first industrial experience in R&D is an asset.
- You are creative, though rigorous person addressing up to the very details.
- You have a system view of the project, naturally integrating into the design the user-related functional aspects.
- You master SolidWorks and you are preferably acquainted with PDM
- You easily integrate a multidisciplinary team and you can organize your work efficiently in order to supply your deliverables according to planning.

Project Manager – optical instrumentation
Your challenges
- Under the supervision of the CTO’s and as team member of the R&D Team, you take the responsibility of R&D projects aiming the development of new equipment or the improvement of existing ones. The projects to be run apply to any of the Lambda-X sectors of activity.
- You define and manage the project management roadmap, you lead the project team members (System Eng. , Software Eng., …), assure the completion of the different steps (from specs definitions till prototyping) in line with the requested planning, budget, quality standards, regulations, … and manage all the documentations and reporting.
- You are in close contact with customers and organize follow-up meetings to present results and status of the project.
- You are a major contributor regarding Lambda-X engineering activities.
- You bring your operational skills to assure the success of each project.
Your profile
- You hold a Master’s degree in Engineering (electromechanics, mechanics, electronics, informatics, physics, …).
- You have at least 5 years’ experience in managing R&D projects for the industry.
- You have an excellent command of English; the practice of French is an asset.
- You have practical and theoretical knowledge in optics.
- You easily integrate a multidisciplinary team and are recognized for your rigor, your hands-on attitude and your ability to manage stakeholders.
- You organize your work efficiently to supply your deliverables according to planning.
- You are multi-task and have the ability to work on several project in parallel.

System engineer for optical instrumentation
Your challenges
- Under the supervision of experienced Project Managers, you work as a team member and you contribute to the development of multiple aerospace and industrial projects.
- In the frame of multidisciplinary projects, you are in charge of building up of systems architectures, including interfaces definition. You ensure that the selected components form a system that performs as expected in the targeted environment and cost budget.
- You review the specifications, you define the design, you drive the optical design, you select opto-electronic components, you integrate thermal and structural aspects in the solutions and you make the link with mechanical, electronic and software engineers.
- You bring creative technical solutions.
- You develop tests and verification set-ups based on dedicated custom-built instruments or based on standard laboratory equipment.
- You consider economic aspects while developing industrial solutions.
- You are in relation with suppliers for technical specifications.
- You look for practical production means for the selected concepts.

Data Processing & algorithmic engineer for optical instrumentation
Job description
You join the R&D team of Lambda-X. Based on good mastering of the physical optics, you are in charge of the algorithmic developments to convert the raw data from the sensors to the useful information for the user. The algorithms are specifically developed for the quality control instruments developed by Lambda-X in the ophthalmic market. You develop the method to extract the parameters relevant for the lens manufacturers to control the quality of the lenses. You contribute to the writing of the documents describing the algorithms. You define and perform unit tests associated with the processing data chain. You work in close collaboration with the SW team in charge of the development of the SW. You understand the physics of the eye.
You also be responsible for the development of the control SW of test benches and the acquisition SW of optical instruments. You understand the experimental setup to collaborate efficiently with the team members. You bring creative technical solutions. You are curious and you enlarge your knowledge.
