Biospectroscopy & Imaging
Optics systems enable biophotonic applications to expand in multiple medical sectors. From pharmaceutical applications to the clinical sector through in-vivo imaging, Lambda-X’s in-depth optical expertise will help you to achieve your goals.
In-Vivo imaging & clinical applications
In-Vivo imaging is powered by several photonic technologies: laser endoscopy, Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), photo-acoustic tomography, optical biopsies. For instance, optical biopsies will strongly expand in the near future to be used in the surgical room in order to meet a growing demand in the number of analyses (25% per year). Automated anatomopathology will answer this demand and simplify, accelerate and enhance cancers’ diagnosis and treatment.
In clinical applications, tissue engineering is a multidisciplinary area of R&D aimed at regeneration of tissues and restoration of organ function. Tissue optics covers a wide range of diverse applications, from the ex vivo spectral characterization of absorption, scattering, fluorescence and/or polarization properties, to perioperative surgical guiding, through the therapeutic use of light.
Pharmaceutical & Biomanufacturing
In pharmaceutical manufacturing, imaging and spectroscopic (Raman, NIR) techniques are used to perform quality control and improve process control as Process Analytical Technologies (PAT).
In biomanufacturing, Advanced Therapy Medical Products (ATMP) can be accurately and real-time controlled using 3D imaging and spectroscopy (Raman, FTIR). In the cell therapy manufacturing process, optical technology is a relevant choice for cell processing (cell transfection by laser) as for cell expansion monitoring (real-time 3D cells imaging by holographic microscopy).
Lambda-X contributes to the innovation in several of these application domains. For instance by developing innovative platforms capable to monitor single-cell reaction by means of real-time fluorescence imaging combined with innovative microfluidic systems.
