SUCCESSFUL FLIGHT OF ARLES EXPERIMENT
The ARLES experiment module, part of the payload for MASER 14 mission, was delivered by Lambda-X to Swedish Space Corporation in January 2019. It successfully completed its space flight by rocket probe this June 24th.
ARLES stands for Advanced Research on Liquid Evaporation in Space. It intends to study, under microgravity conditions, drop evaporation of pure fluids and nanoparticle suspensions in the presence and absence of an electric field.
For this experiment, the optical systems developed by Lambda-x are:
- Infrared observation system in the main evaporation cell
- Interferometer observation system in the main evaporation cell
- Overview observation of multi-drop cells
